About
the Puja
Puja, a Buddhist Offering
Ceremony
 |
During the Satsa Puja, the ashes
are mixed with clay and formed into the sacred satsas, written
prayers are painted with saffron water and rolled tightly, then
the prayers are enclosed into the satsas. During this
process, a puja is performed, with many
mantras recited, followed by a Satsa Consecration ceremony. |
|
The Satsa Making Puja and Consecration
consist of a three part puja, taking place over three days. Creating
or supporting the creation of these statues is said to generate
merit so that one may understand the teachings more easily. |
 |
 |
The satsas are arranged on an altar during the puja. Later
they are placed into the Satsa House where they will
continue to be blessed by our resident and visiting Lamas (Buddhist
Teachers). |
